Internet Protocol Transit (IP Transit) refers to a client or customer’s method of connecting to the Internet. Fiber, housed underground, acts as a means to transport a steady connection from the Internet user to the Internet carrier. Through a connectivity port housed at a TELEHOUSE data center, the IP transit acts as a physical route from customers’ workstations to their Internet service provider’s hosting facility. This methodology, known as IP Transit, is often the easiest and most cost effective way of securing a reliable Internet connection in order to guarantee consistent service.
TELEHOUSE’s IP Transit offers global IP connectivity by leveraging the worldwide network. With secure access to over 100,000 route miles of fiber, TELEHOUSE’s 40 data center locations offer premium service, reliability, and secure connectivity. Hosting service providers such as Zaah Technologies; media and entertainment companies such as eBaum’s World; international carriers and ISPs all utilize TELEHOUSE for premium colocation, as well as robust connectivity options. TELEHOUSE offers a truly global connection interlinking the United States, Europe, Asia, and the rest of the world.
In a quest to further expand its IP Transit, TELEHOUSE now offers customers its latest innovation – Premium IP. TELEHOUSE Premium IP service offers a dual IP connection utilizing two ISP routes for maximum redundancy and availability. By using two layers of connectivity, the load is shared amongst the routing cables, ensuring that if one connection fails, the other cable will maintain connectivity using a single IP Transit route. The Premium IP solution provides crucial redundancy and eradicates the need for public AS numbers, high level engineering skills and unique IP addresses assigned by Network Information Center (NIC). This type of architecture streamlines configurations, as well as the management of connections – freeing up technical staff for other initiatives.
With Premium IP, TELEHOUSE customers receive two layers of connectivity to the bridge, and their own IP address for Customer LAN Bridge Domain and Gateway redundancy by VRRP (Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol). As a result, customers can achieve high levels of availability: 99.999% and the benefit of multiple independent upstream transit ISPs.
TELEHOUSE Premium IP service is available exclusively from TELEHOUSE’s New York, 25 Broadway/Teleport and Los Angeles, CA facilities.
